FOWL Donations to Storm-Damaged Libraries

FOWL Donates to Hurricane-Ravaged Libraries

While our library - and our community - narrowly missed being hit by Hurricane Irma in September, many others were not as fortunate.  In particular, Houston, western Florida, the US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico suffered extensive damage from
Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.  Many libraries in these regions were destroyed or damaged.  In the midst of such overall devastation, funds for rebuilding libraries and buying new books will be slow to come. FOWL would like to help with this effort, so we are donating the proceeds of the Holiday Book Sale, along with other funds from our general reserves, for a total of $1800.

If you would also like to donate, please go to the American Library Association website's Disaster Fund link at http://www.ala.org/aboutala/ala-urges-library-supporters-help-libraries-rebuild-after-hurricanes-harvey-and-irma.

Thank you so much for supporting FOWL and the Friends Center.  The Library is so much better because you care!
