The Georgetown County Library system's YouTube channel (pictured below) is visited by 50,000 people annually. From the 1st Thursdays Speaker Series and Musicians Series to a myriad of A Glorious Cause presentations, you are invited to watch library programming in the comfort of your own home.

SC Lends is up and running and waiting to be explored. It is a consortium of 31 South Carolina county libraries plus the State Library and it puts their 2.97 million resources at our fingertips. From the newest materials available in Georgetown County (pictured below) to a fantastic KIDS section that offers a well organized menu of options, SC Lends is a valuable resource for the entire state! Login with your current library card number and the last four digits of your phone number, which is your password. Need help? Just call the Waccamaw Library (843-545-3623) and they will gladly assist you. Don't delay because audiobooks, DVDs and of course, the latest bestsellers, are just a click away.

The FOWL Mission Statement

 The purpose of this organization shall be, in the cooperation with Georgetown County Library Board of Trustees:

  • To maintain an association of persons interested in libraries
  • To stimulate increased awareness and resulting use of Waccamaw Neck Branch Library
  • To stimulate increased financial support, both public and private
  • To support and cooperate with the Library in developing library services and facilities to the community
  • To help direct efforts of groups and individuals interested in the Library; to sponsor cultural and related programs for the community


FOWL Meetings

Founded in 1988, FOWL holds board meetings on the second Thursday of February, May, August and November. The November meeting is our Annual meeting at which elections are held. All meetings are open to the public.
