October is Friends Month in the Friends Center October 15-21 is National Friends of Libraries Week. To show how much FOWL appreciates the volunteers who are so critical to the success of our nation's libraries, the Friends Center at Waccamaw Library is celebrating the entire month of October!
One of our very artistic Friends, Janet Willse, has donated a painting she created exclusively for a silent auction that will run in the Friends Center throughout the month of October. The framed work depicts a scene taken from Jane Eyre. The winner of the painting will also receive a copy of a just-published book entitled The Secret History of Jane Eyre by author John Pfordresher. We hope you will register your bid for these exciting items many times during the month! The drawing for a winner will be held on October 31st.
In addition, we will have sale pricing on some paperbacks, and we will give away a recently collated scroll of the favorite books of Waccamaw Neck book clubs for 2017. This is a very important reference tool for all serious readers!
We hope to see you in October at the Friends Center, where we will be celebrating your continued support for our wonderful Waccamaw Library! If you've been meaning to renew your membership or know someone who would like to join FOWL, applications for membership are available in the Friends Center.
Thank you so much for supporting FOWL and the Friends Center. The Library is so much better because you care! Sponsored by Friends of the Waccamaw Library
